My life is dope and I do dope shit. -KW

I spoke at the 2020 MoCannBizCon+Expo, right before the [redacted] hit on behalf of a brand I helped develop for women in the cannabis industry. The energy was awesome. I was featured in Greenway Magazine as a Woman to Watch, so all I wanna say is: WATCH OUT!

Joining some of the cannabis ladies at the MoCannBizCon+Expo.

When cannabis was legalized in Missouri, it was apparent how much things would change. And quickly. Not only legally and culturally, but visually. Stylistically. This was a new realm to explore. An untapped landscape of possibility. New energy begets new, fresh ideas and new ways of thinking about, well… everything.

In Theory

I got together with a writer and came up with some ideas for product lines that included name, tagline, logo, packaging, product type naming conventions and creative ways to position the product. The only thing about them is that they don’t actually exist. Yet.

Just like grandma used to make. Nana Bliss Cannabis (NANA) is fresh out of the oven and begging for lovin’. Just make sure you call every once in a while.

Not every time needs to be a trip. every.day. is everyday cannabis is for the everyperson. So whether your plans include finishing some laundry, attending book club or binge watching a show, we’ll meet you right where you’re at.

Hey Ladiesssss!

As fate would have it, my first forays into the world of cannabis retail weren’t for products on dispensary shelves. But they are brands that support the products and the people who sell them.

Right before my presentation at an industry women event held during MoCannBizCon+Expo.

MIZBIZ

Calling all the misses in the business! The name and identity for MIZBIZ represented a group of women entrepreneurs who are all-in on the cannabis business.

I got to present logos in a shiny new dispensary over glasses of wine. We were all so excited about this new group, the brand and all the possibilities buzzing around us, that they invited me to present the brand at a conference.

Top Left: Presenting logos to the ideal clients (ladies with wine). The MIZBIZ brand was on the verge of becoming a fashion line. Maybe one day!

JAINE

As sometimes happens, MIZBIZ was not in the cards. The name and logo didn’t end up becoming a permanent feature. But the group of women did, as did their resolve to take their group as seriously as each of them take their respective business endeavors.

Thankfully, there was a backup that I’d presented in that dispensary along with MIZBIZ. I came up with an additional name, a logo and a rallying cry to gather around, and this option ended up coming to the forefront (and still remains today!). A callback to a very familiar name and reference with fiery twist, JAINE was born: Join | Achieve | Ignite | Nurture | Empower.

MIZBIZ became JAINE and JAINE became We are JAINE.

Look into the GreenFrame

Tim Pickett had a vision. I was along for the ride. As he was overseeing the development of his app to assist budtenders, growers and consumers in the sales and purchase of the vast array of cannabis products quickly exploding into the market, I helped him develop a brand, in-app icon system, designed the GreenFrame website and helped with some strategic swag.

I even tried to get him to wear bright green pants to match his brand. I would also like him to drive a GreenFrame branded school bus, but I’m not going to share that with him just yet.

From logo to integrating the brand, color palette and iconography into the app design, to the landing page with animations, to physical print pieces to take to events, GreenFrame has a solid base and an open frame to do all kinds of fun things with in the future.

Coming up next…

I don’t know, but I have a feeling the party’s just begun.
