The Stellar Winds of Orion Bridge

The Stellar Winds of Orion Bridge 〰️

I had always wanted to attempt a “graphic novel” but wasn’t sure how to go about it. I don’t know that this is long enough to qualify as a novel, but it’s at least a chapter of one. This idea began as I was thinking about the planets in our solar system — as you do — and how they are named such that two of them are female (Earth and Venus) and the rest are male. Thinking about what the dynamic would be, with all these men vying for the attention of two women seemed rife with storytelling. Very heteronormative, I know! But as a woman, I will not apologize for anything. Am I doing this right? Discourse is hard. Also all the size differences with the male planets? I mean that’s funny. And the whole Pluto thing. So this is just a short story about a potluck dinner in a little corner of the Milky Way that seems uneventful, but that is roiling beneath the surface with jealousy, rage and unrequited love. Planets, they’re just like us! I sold these books and mailed a bunch of them out with special little wax sealed envelopes with a custom message inside.
